#1 | Server Behavior Etiquette: Always be kind and respectful towards all others, this includes people that are not present on this server. Bullying, derogatory remarks, bashing/call-outs, and any form of harassment will not be tolerated in this community.
#2 | Server Content: Refrain from discussing controversial topics such as suicide, rape, self harm, politics, homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, and other harmful content.
#3 | Moderator Word: Please respect Moderators decisions. They are here to keep the server a safe, fun, and welcoming place and their decisions must be respected. If you are having an issue with a Moderator specifically, please contact kenzers#2196 specifically with your concerns. If you have a concern with me, please do not feel uncomfortable messaging me.
#4 | Channel-Usage: Our server is meant to remain clean. We have various channels designated for specific uses. Please do not chat where there are forms to be filled. If you are, for example, interested in filling someone's roleplay request, you ought to tag them in #plot-discussion.
#5 | Planning Absences: To inform of your absence tag a @Moderator in the #support channel or feel free to DM one of them privately. We understand life can get in the way and you can get writers block. We will allow for maximum one month of inactivity while holding the RP-Verified role before it is removed.
#6 | Characters that have been removed: Whether you've decided on a long-term absence, quit and came back, or were removed for inactivity, your character may have a chance of coming back. This will be a case by case basis at the digression of the Mods. If they do return to the IC world, time would have passed naturally without them and your character must explain their absence to those who have missed them.

#1 | Roleplaying Content: Make sure your content is fairly SFW. Please keep the following out of your roleplays: sexual themes aside from courting behavior, overly graphic or brutal description of gore/death/etc. Additionally, be realistic in your characters awareness. Because you are aware of something OOC, your character may not assume and has to learn information/details through Roleplay (i.e someone planning your demise or a takeover).
#2 | Realism: Our server is considered semi-realistic to allow creative freedom and customization as well as the ability to play your character in depth. Be realistic within your selected species' limits and reactions to situations/stimuli. That being said, your character is welcome to exhibit human-like emotions and personality traits to of course allow for a more enjoyable roleplay experience.
#3 | Semi-Consent: By participating the server, you're allowing low-consent level. The only consent you will have is life-altering changes to your character (i.e death/deadly wounds) - even then, you must exit a fight before it gets to that point. By entering a fight willingly, you consent to death. Interactions such as capturing, fighting and other altering actions do not need consent from any user.
#4 | Posting Orders: Ongoing RPs are encouraged to have a defined posting order. This gives everyone's' character the ability to react to each and every post accordingly. If someone jumps in, you can fit them into the PO as seen fit. It is not strictly enforced and people may be skipped if their character does not have anything to react with or if the RP moves more centered towards specific characters.
#5 | Rolling Requirements: When you are hunting, breeding, or (as stated below) fighting you are expected to utilize our dice/RNG system in #🎲|rng-dice-etc. There is a Pinned Post at the top for rolling commands and sections.
> 5a: Before using this tool, make sure you've made an attempt in your post. If you're hunting, you need to clearly state in your post that your character is digging around searching for food. If you're successful (or fail) your results can be written in your next post. For breeding, you can roll when you've done a fade to black scene indicating in your post you're going to breed. * Remember, no NSFW posts! And finally, for fighting you need to make an attack attempt, roll for it, and the opponent will need to react according to the results before attempting their own attack/defense/etc.
#6 | Thrill Killing, God-Modding, Power-Playing and Metagaming: None of these are permitted and are considered basic Roleplay Etiquette to prohibit in communities. They dampen the experience for everyone and will overall ruin an RP.
> 6a: Your character is fully allowed to kill NPCs to further plots; you may also kill consenting players characters as well as pre-plotted deaths. These are not considered thrill-killing.
> 6b: In the case of a players absence, some characters may become NPC's to be controlled by their companions such as a mother of weaning offspring. Permission from a Moderator must be granted.
#7 | Territory Defense: All claimed territory is to be defended by the inhabiting group. Players outside of this groups may enter a territory, but the group that has successfully claimed the land is welcome to run them out. Additionally, claimed territory is always at risk of a take-over! Just because your group has officially claimed a territory, does not mean you've got a free-ride in a safe haven. Other groups can challenge for territory. Keep in mind when you're claiming a territory and how desirable it may be.
#8 | Para-RP and Posting Minimum Requirements: Please try to be descriptive and clear in your characters actions and feelings. A minimum of three sentences is required with a preference for more. If you're not offering enough information and detail within your posts you may be contacted to revise your posting detail.
#9 | IC Channel Uses: Within all of our territory channels, you're to stay in Character at ALL TIMES. OOC chat is to be held in the Out of Character channels only, even to discuss the occurrences in your active RP. If you have questions with your RP partner(s) or need to discuss the RP, please message them or tag them in the #plot-discussion channel.
#10 | Orphaned Characters: Any characters that are not old enough to live on their own cannot be created without A: being born to a pair of characters or B: having a pre-discussed plot of adoption of some sort. Even then, character could not have been orphaned for long- they realistically would not last long without protection or provisions.
#11 | Group Fights: With some territories being claimable by dwelling groups, there may be battles between opposing groups. A moderator may keep an eye on this larger scale RP if any occur, and the dice system is still a requirement. Group fights should have some sort of pre-planning and discussion beforehand and during (who is participating, and clarification of actions as needed). These can optionally be moved to a temporary channel and then archived when the fight is complete at the request of the participants. To help the speed of these roleplays, if your character is not participating (i.e at the sidelines watching or safely healing, you should wait to post until after the fight so the fight can continue and your characters input of watching adds nothing to the fight).
#12 | Loners/Rogues/Rovers: Meerkats are social group animals. A lone meerkat is often times seeking one of three things: a partner to start a new mob/family with, a new group entirely, or short romancing before returning to their mob. Your character can be alone but the natural feeling of needing a group will be there and may affect your character as you see fit.
#13 | Mods in RP: We really want to put across that MODS ARE NOT INVINCIBLE! The Mods are all roleplaying equally and do not get any sort of special treatment. Our characters can be attacked, killed, grow sick and weak just like the rest of the characters. Additionally, our characters must also go through approval. There are NO special privileges for anyone.

#1 | Character Submission: All characters are to be submitted into the #character-database channel to be approved. Within the channel, there is a Pinned Post that will provide you with the submission form and all the information to proceed with your submission. Make sure to read through in full! Reference images are a requirement. At this time, we do not accept real life images as your reference. We have free artwork and guest designers willing to design.
> Three character per person at this time!
#2 | Realism: Keep your coloration, markings, and additional design quirks fairly realistic. Keep your colors to various hues of browns, blacks, and creams. Albino/Melanistic/Piebald characters can occur though are more rare and unlikely to be passed down to offspring.
#3 | Disabilities: When creating a character with a disability such as a missing limb, blindness, deafness, etc they must act accordingly with the disability. This means a character with deafness/blindness will have a hard time surviving and may succumb to natural causes when they are alone.
#4 | Accessories: Simplistic accessories are allowed. You're welcome to add radio collars, ropes, and other accessories that are even a little possible to occur on a wild Meerkat. Having a backstory for said item is required if it's a little more far-fetched. Something as simple as being a tied up pet that escaped or getting their neck caught at some point in a rope will suffice as an example!
#5 | Other Species: Other south African mongoose species such as the Yellow Mongoose are available to be created, as well! When using these characters, you can integrate them into Meerkat mobs! In the wild, some species of Mongoose will room with Meerkats in their burrows occasionally so overlap is allowed.

Fighting, Breeding, Hunting and Travelling
Please only utilize these commands within the #🎲|rng-dice-etc channel.
Please see the Pinned Post in the server that has the commands.
Please see the Pinned Post in the server that has the commands.
💡 FOOD: Each channel description in the IC zone has a Food level. There is Very Low - Plentiful (see list below) and you will have to roll using the proper food availability rates. You should only roll after your post has contained an attempt at finding food and yes, you may try continuously. After your post with the food search attempt:
→ Head to the designated channel - #🎲|rng-dice-etc → Use the !roll command *commands in server pinned → If successful, use the !choose command with the list - results of your finds in your next post → If failure, you may re-try an attempt in another post or move on. 💡 BREEDING: Breeding is fairly simple. There is a rule against NSFW roleplay but all are welcome to insinuate breeding with a fade to black scene! Upon this F2B, you're welcome to roll your breeding results in the channel. You can decide your characters own fertility level! There is high, medium and low fertility rates. → High: 1-7 = success → Medium: 1-5 = success → Low: 1-2 = success +1 for wet season, -1 for dry season to your final roll. 💡 TRAVELLING: In this server, travelling will not be as simple as moving channels and practically warping across the map. You're encouraged to do some travelling roleplay through various territories to get to where you need. You may encounter some encounter checks in the form of travelling events, see below! ** Note: At this moment, the map is not released but the channels are arranged in the approximate order that is needed. Without a map, you're welcome to sort of come up with your own path for the time being. During travelling, your Kat will face an encounter check! This is to spice up travelling and not make it as simple as a move. There can be obstacles you run into! Rolling for Events: 1-4: Nothing happens 5: On the way, a member of the mob gets injured physically or sick. Roll for injury or sickness: 1-5 = injury, 6-10 for sickness. Then roll 1-# of mob members and assign a number to each member. *See commands for list of injuries/sickness. 6: A predator or migrating herd is nearby! Driving the group in a different direction, causing splinter groups. How severe the separation is is up to the group (you can roll for severity, too) possibly requiring temporary leaders to step up until the group can re-unite. 7: The boltholes, or burrow entrances in the area have collapsed, requiring alternative shelter (for emergencies) or redigging. Maybe there is even a rattlesnake hiding? 8: There's an unknown creature in, or on top of the burrow/bolt-hole entrance before you arrive. 9: A weather event! Strong wind, sun without shade, or storms with light flooding. (based on the season) 10: You've come across an unusual amount of food! +2 to all find food rolls, granting a higher chance of success. |
💡 COMBAT: When making an attacking or defending roll, a player rolls a 1d10. When the next member posts and chooses defend/attack, they also roll. You may counter-attack, as well using the same 1d10.
If the attacking player's roll is higher, the attack lands. If the defending player's roll is higher, the attack misses. *Note: Physically disabled characters (blind/poor eyesight, missing limbs, frailness) will subtract -1 per disability from their roll result. The players chooses how to block, dodge, or attack in roleplay, but may not turn a winning block into an attack. Alternatively, if a player chooses not to defend, they simply take the hit and continue roleplay as it developles. If a player's number is higher by 1-2 numbers, it's a narrow hit or miss. If a player's number is higher by 3-8 numbers, it's a normal hit or miss. If a player lands a perfect 10 hit or deflect, they can choose a fancy way to land or block the attack. If the attack is blocked, it knocks the attacking player back (with no damage), if the attack lands, it knocks the player back (with slightly more damage than usual). If the player lands a 1, they're sloppy. If (by some strange chance) the attack hits, it's messy and barely hits. If it's blocked, it's messy and your character stumbles, slips, or falls in the process. Sizing + disabilities matters in fights! Please provide your approximate size in your application document. Large meerkat = +1 fight when attacking, -1 when defending Average meerkat = 1 # bonus when searching for food Small meerkat = +1 when defending, -1 when attacking Variables; Limbs: -1 in fighting and defending for each lost limb or eye. A limb is defined as a tail, paw, or leg. Heritage: +1 in the stat of your choice for any meerkats born into the game from in-game parents |
